Great read! I finished it in one day and it’s full of great info. Even with the small changes of not letting my dog on the couch and always stepping inside first when we come in from a walk, I’ve noticed a difference in my dog’s behavior. The book is easy to read and makes things simple to understand. I’ve learned that a lot of my dogs negative behaviors come from a dominance issue thanks to this book! Would highly recommend!
I have owned dogs all of my life, some were difficult, some were a breeze. After having 2 pack members pass away last year, I am developing a new pack, with one of THE most difficult pups I have ever seen! For the first time in my life, I began researching dog trainers. I didn't find any,( maybe there are some though) that knew anything I didn't already know. I can get everyone to fetch, sit.... I know positive reinforcement. On the other hand, nothing I knew was helping to train this " strange" pup. He pulled on walks, went crazy when anyone approached our pack on the walk or our house! I knew I had to get control fast, before we were hurt and before the smallest new pack member took a page out of his book from observation!
In desperation, I ordered this book, having researched the authors beforehand. To sum up many thoughts on the book in a small space, I will say this I get it! I read this as soon as it came in the mail. With all that I know about dogs, and it is a lot, I learned many things. I know what I was doing wrong and I know what the problem was with my problem pup. I changed my attitude, and the way I dealt with him ( and the others) that very day. The difference was immediate. It has only been a few days, but now I know, I can do this. We will all be fine)
