airline were different. "Jump Seat" is perhaps a different take on flying during those years but I could certainly relate to
much of what she wrote. Good job!

Bobbi Phelps Wolverton has written a wonderful memoir about her years as an international flight attendant from 1965 to 1973. As she describes, the so-called glamour years of aviation were anything but glamorous. This is a delightfully engaging read, often witty, sometimes sad, but always entertaining. In her remarkably clear style, she relates many fascinating, hilarious, exciting, even terrifying, experiences during her career. I highly recommend it.

On June 01, 1968 I found myself boarding aTWA 727 to Kansas City for the start of my career as a TWA air hostess. In my hands was a book a friend had given me to open and read when I was airborne. Coffee, Tea, or Me. As I read this very funny book, I wondered WHAT had I g.otten my self into ! I ended up having a great TWA career. What I really needed was BEHIND THE SMILE ! This is truly what a flight attendant's career is really about. I have read quite a few books on this submerge but bobbi wolverton has nailed it.
